At 21:32, April 7th, 2026 BJT, Long March 8 (LM-8) Launch Vehicle blasted off from Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, successfully sending the seventh 18 satellites of Spacesail Constellation into the predetermined orbit.

The launch services for the abovementioned satellites of Spacesail Constellation are prime-contracted by China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). This is the seventh launch performed by CGWIC for Spacesail Constellation, following the deployment of the sixth batch of Spacesail satellites in October of 2025.
These 18 satellites are designed and manufactured by Shanghai Engineering Center for Microsatellites. Spacesail Constellation, being constructed and operated by Shanghai Spacesail Technologies Co., Ltd., provides global users with low-latency, high-speed and ultra-reliable satellite broadband internet services.
LM-8 Launch Vehicle is a new generation of Chinese medium two-stage liquid propellant launch vehicle, developed by the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT), also a subsidiary to CASC. The designed capacity of LM-8 is not less than 5500kg for 700km sun synchronous orbit. This mission is the 5th launch of LM-8.
CGWIC is a commercial organization authorized by Chinese government to provide commercial launch services, satellite systems and to carry out space technology cooperation. Under the guidance of CASC, CGWIC provides international and domestic customers with rapid, stable, and reliable "one-stop" quality services.
Since Long March launch vehicles successfully entered the international market in 1990s, CGWIC has completed 107 commercial launch missions for 77 international satellites and 299 domestic satellites. In addition, CGWIC has conducted 52 rideshare missions sending 29 international payloads and 127 domestic payloads into orbits.
This launch marks the 636th flight of the Long March fleet.
