VeneSat-1 Satellite Program In-Orbit Test Successfully Completed

On December 6, 2008, China Great Wall announced that following the successful launch of the VeneSat-1 communications satellite on October 30, 2008, orbit maneuvers, in-orbit testing (IOT) and other associated tasks have proceeded as scheduled, and that in-orbit testing (IOT) for Venesat-1 has been successfully completed. IOT results indicate that Venesat-1’s in-orbit status is normal and that its performance specifications meet all contractual requirements. This means thar the satellite is ready to begin operating, and will shortly be officially delivered to the customer, the Venezuelan government.
