On December 5-9, 2005, the VeneSat-1 communications satellite program launch was held in Beijing.
December 3, 2005
On December 3, 2005, the Beijing Municipal Higher People's Court authorised the auction of the fixed shares in land and real estate of Beijing Grand View Garden Center Co. Ltd., and CGWIC bought shares in Grand View Garden Hotel land and real estate.
November 22-23, 2005
On November 22-23, 2005, the ChinaSat 9 satellite program launch was held at Beijing's Friendship Hotel.
November 9, 2005

November 9, 2005 – CGWIC signed a launch services contract with China Satellite Communications Corporation in Beijing for the launch of the ChinaSat-9 satellite on board a LM-3B launch vehicle. The satellite will be launched in the second half of 2007 from the Xicheng Satellite Launch Center, and be placed into orbit at a longitude of 92.2°E.

November 1, 2005

On November 1, 2005, CGWIC signed a contract with the Venezuelan Ministry of Science and Technology in Caracas, Venezuela for the VeneSat-1 communications satellite program. CGWIC President Wang Haibo and Venezuelan Minister of Science and Technology Marlene Yadira Codova signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

According to the contract, CGWIC will act as the primary contractor and will deliver to the Venezuelan client an in-orbit satellite together with the ground-based control, monitoring and other facilities.

The satellite will be based on a DFH-4 satellite platform, and will be launched on board an LM-3B from the Xicheng Satellite Launch Center. It is expected to be handed over to begin operations with the client in 2008.

The signing ceremony was attended by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

August 16-21, 2005
On August 16-21, 2005, CGWIC participates in the 7th Moscow International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, during which it displayed its Long March (LM) rocket family and Dongfanghong (DFH) satellite platforms. Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the CGWIC booth.
July 1, 2005
On July 1, 2005, CGWIC held a press conference to announce the NigSatCom satellite program, a satellite export success which will propel the company from being merely a launch vehicle provider to an in-orbit satellite system integrator.
June 13, 2005
From June 13 to 19, 2005, CGWIC attended the 46th Paris International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, during which it showcased the DHF-4 satellite platform as well as the LM-3A, LM-3B and LM-3C launch vehicles.
May 18, 2005

At the China-Singapore Cooperation Forum held in Singapore on May 18, 2005, CGWIC signed a contract with Singapore Airlines Cargo and Singapore Investments Pte. Ltd. a contract governing investment for the establishment of Great Wall Airlines Co. Ltd.

Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo and Singapore Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi witnessed the signing.

April 12, 2005
On April 12, 2005, an LM-3B launch vehicle successfully launched from the Xicheng Satellite Launch Center and placed the Alcatel-built APSTAR-VI communications satellite into field orbit for Hong Kong's APT Satellite Communications Co. Ltd.
This is the company's first launch since July 1999.

On April 7, 2005, Zhao Xiaojin was appointed CGWIC Vice President.

The NigSatCom satellite program launch was held in Beijing from February 21 to March 2, 2005.
